Sisto Pascale el Taller Interview

web interview Sisto Pascale el Taller Interview
Name of your website?

Sisto Pascale el Taller

Your name?

Sisto Pascale

Your Location (city, etc)

Durazno 1944 Montevideo

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The website was designed with different objectives. One to give a complete bio of Sisto Pascale, two a Complete description of the courses that are given in his art studio, third a gallery where people can see his works, fourth all the different events Pascale has directed and last how to get in touch with the studio and the artist.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

For the past 20 years I have been working in Uruguay as an art instructor, lecturer and artist to both the Uruguayan and World comunity. The website is a way of letting more people now about my work, which is not just painting but reaching out with a different way of teaching. The website helps me to reach more people all over.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My website is quite young. It is going for its second birthdate. I have exhisten in internet for a while in different types of pages becuase of all the events and exhibits which I´ve either participated in or directed.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name was simple, as an artist my logo is may name and the word El Taller (The Studio) is how my students refer to my institute.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I hold a Degree in Fine Arts from the Maryland College of Art in Design USA. This makes my education different from local artists. I am a native english speaker but Uruguayan citizen, in my studio the courses are bilingual and there is a good mix from the diplomatic comunity. In the studio we learn, work and have alot of fun!!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My eventual goal is to find more and more people all over that would like to learn more about what I do. I have a unique way of working with people and the results in their learning are quite rapid. Eventually I would like to find partners in other countries who have the same goals and work together in the bettering of teaching art.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I am a work aholic and I invest alot of time and money to marketing the idea that art works, it heals and it betters life. I can't complain since this is my only income and my institute grows. In this 2007 I have done 5 exhibits, one for President Bush at the Embassy in Montevideo aonther at our Presidency building, another for 100 years of Punta del este, another inaugurating our new Canraval Museum and last for the 30th birthday of FRIPUR our biggest fishing firm in Uruguay and all were a total success. This could only have been done with alot of work and planning. The course where not altered and the studio kept on working like alway.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

If I had an unlimited budget for my website I would have more space for my students works. It would be an honor to show the beuties they create and their bios. What would also please me would to find a way to make the art studio work on the web and make people from all over enjoy the friendship I try to maintain in the studio. When one teahes the student opens a special part of his/her heart for you to learn, the challenge in sharing my way of working to make this happen on the web would be a good way of using these funds.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

If this were to happen, it shoul also be acompanied by more income. This would permit me to hire new talents and give them an opportunity to work as a team. I would have to enter a new arena and it would be a new challenge but I see no problem on the contrary it could give more jobs in a moment were there are alot on new young talents wanting to work and create.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Trying to keep the studio alive all these years have braught about alot of different types of costs and headaches. In Uruguay alot of people would like to participate in my studio but because of the low wages for some it is imposible to integrate the studio. This type of situation for me is a headache. Wanting to reach out to the world and finding that sometimes some opportunities are not opened is also a heache. Finding good art materials also a headache. As of costs well I´ve learned to adapt my work and fees to Uruguay´s economy.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge in my profesion was to become well known in what I do and I can proudly say I have not failed. It took a while and had to swim upstream but I got there. In Uruguay I am well known for my work and the goal of reacheing people all over the country (less fortunates who cannot go to a studio). In these past 20 years in Uruguay I have reached over 6500 children, adolecents and adults in my seminars, conferences and workshops outside my studio. This could have not been able without the endless support o private firms and my loving wife and two boys. In every event all my students work as hard as I do but we get the mission acomplished and the 6500 people we have got in touch with are transformed into smiles. So my biggest challenge was to see 6500 smiles, 6500 hugs of apreciation and 6500 lives I´ve touched.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Honesty, alot of work, giving all I now, learning from my students and alot of listening.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't changed the rythm of the studio much. It has helped as a presentation. I´m hopping this link will help in reaching my new goals.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The website is almost two years old and I will keep it on the web for as long as I can. One no one knows whos out there and I've had alot of lovely surprises all positive.

Replace this with a question of your own

Is there anyone out there who can help me reach out and show the world the good things we do in the studio and if so would anyone like to here one of my conferences on art?

What is your website address?
