Moving Furniture in Montevideo

By Wilbur Corncob at 05/11/07 07:06

, Montevideo: Apartment Building with Huge Door You can see from the huge front doors on most apartment buildings that it is no problem to move large pieces of furniture in and out!

Uruguay Dreaming notes that "If you walk around Montevideo in areas with a lot of tall residential buildings, it is not uncommon to see furniture being hoisted from the outside with ropes."

Of course the "problem" is that after you get through the huge front doors you have tiny elevators and although Uruguay Dreaming thinks the apartment doors are also small, "it looks as if some apartment doors in Montevideo are about 75cm wide (around 30 inches)." I've found entrance doors to be wide and interior doors to be reasonable in width as well.

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 4826
