Sunday Expat Meetings Going Strong... 3 Year Update!

It was 3 years ago that I announced the first meeting of expats at Old Maz Restaurant in Montevideo. My big mistake was announcing it as a meeting for Americans... and soon changed it to English speaking expats as we always get an interesting and multi-national group.

Each Sunday brings a different mix of people, expats, Uruguayans and tourists. It offers a not only a great opportunity to share information, but to ask questions and learn about different cultures.... there are always people who have lived in or visited different parts of the world.

The Life of A Gaucho

A cowboy in Uruguay? They are called gauchos here. They look and function similarly like a cowboy in the United States, except for a few changes. Perhaps cowboys were rarely seen in England that even Charles Darwin excitedly included them in his documentation of his expeditions in South America.
