real estate Paradise Advisor, Real Estate Network Interview
Name of your website?

Paradise Advisor, Real Estate Network

Your name?

David Hammond

Your Location (city, etc)

Punta del Este, Uruguay

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The website provides information about Uruguay that would be important to someone considering buying a second home, living, or investing outside of the U.S.A. It also provides a few real estate listings to give an idea of what is available.

Subscribers to the website receive a free Uruguay Real Estate Investor's report and monthly updates that include information about life and real estate in Uruguay.

Paradise Uruguay team members are trustworthy independent professionals who are best suited to serve the real estate objectives of English speaking North Americans and Europeans in Uruguay.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Uruguay is one of today's most promising offshore markets. It is the Paradise many Baby Boomers are looking for. It seemed the most efficient way of letting people know about what Uruguay has to offer was a website.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I had a lot of false starts with online template products and a company that specialized in serving real estate agents in the U.S. I finally started working with a professional web designer, which I believe will provide flexibility for the site to grow.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

My site has a narrower focus and target market, geared to more individualized service and attention. Many of the people our team serves become friends as well as clients.

So, what is so good about Uruguay?

Uruguay is a good place to invest in real estate because it has all the most sought after attributes of the U.S. second home and retirement markets, provides the highest quality of life in Latin America, as well as safe procedures for the transfer and ownership of real estate by foreigners.

Uruguay has the beaches, weather, recreational activities, and coastal properties to satisfy the most discriminating second home or retirement property buyer. Uruguay’s Punta del Este is the continent’s premiere beach resort and the favorite New Year’s spot for the world’s most affluent and influential leisure travelers.

Uruguay's capital, Montevideo is rated by Mercer Human Resource Consulting as providing the highest quality of life in Latin America. Uruguay is the safest country, has the least economic disparity, and the most highly educated population in Latin America. It is the second least corrupt country in Latin America, behind Chile, has good health care, and is one of the most affordable places in the world to live.

Foreigners can buy and sell real estate the same as citizens. Property transfer procedures are well established and private property rights are well protected. Property is bought and sold in U.S. dollars. Real estate in select local markets of Uruguay, that is appealing to North American and Europeans and in limited supply, is currently appreciating at rates exceeding 30%.
